Compatibility Requirements

2005 - 2009 Toyota Tacoma Remote Start
Automatic transmission only.
Vehicle must have normal key start ignition
10th Letter of VIN must be a 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9
Not compatible with push start models
Vehicle must have power locks
Must use a black head key to program not a gray valet key.

Be sure to select the correct kit if your vehicle HAS an immobilizer / chip in the key or not. The kits are NOT interchangeable. Use the photo to help determine if you have one or not. Also note the DOT on the key alone is NOT 100% to determine if you have an immobilizer as the DOT key can be programmed to non-immobilizer trucks as well.

Install is simple and all connectors are at the driver underdash / kick panel area. Mostly plug and play with only a few hardwired connections required.

2005 Toyota Tacoma

Install was straightforward and works as advertised. Love it on cold mornings. As mentioned in other review, connector in kick panel was a bear, but that’s has nothing to do with the product. Make sure you program the unit prior to reassembly. Shipping was fast and quality of product is excellent.

Exactly what I needed for this cold weather! Life saver! Easy install and straightforward instructions! Took less than an hour and works exactly as it should!

One thing to add.

Besides it being a fairly easy install....make sure to only hold start button (key button) for the recommended 3 secs. The little blue icon will flash after being solid for the 3 secs, let go immediately. If you hold it too long the flashing light will go back to solid and it will cancel the start! This should be added in the tips section or somewhere in the install instructions.

Awesome kit

I installed this remote start on my ‘07 Tacoma and love it. The instructions were great and it worked perfect on the first try. The hardest part of the install is the door harness behind the kick panel, the plug is hard to get to and requires patience. I love that the kit includes a panel removal tool. Highly recommended if you want a plug and play kit.
